The Ocean Foundation

Dedicated to reversing destruction on global ocean environments, the Ocean Foundation launched the Ocean Acidification Day of Action on January 8, 2019, with a reception at the House of Sweden in Washington, D.C. Attendees were encouraged to engage with the new campaign microsite onsite.

The campaign draws awareness around the ocean's rising pH level and it’s significant impact on human and marine life. Among the sites many features is an interactive module that prompts readers to guess trends in ocean chemistry against projections, and an ecosystem slider that helps users understand the impact by depicting the effects of pH levels on coastal and marine species and services.

Inspired by the initiative, internationally acclaimed musicians, Animal Collective, wrote a song for use as the microsite’s background audio.
